Privacy

Last updated 1 October 2026

Anchor has no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party services. There is no advertising, no data is sold or shared, and nothing about your use of the app is reported to anyone. Your prayers and journal entries are not read by us and are not used to train anything.

What is stored

That is the complete list. Anchor does not ask for anything it does not need to work.

Where it lives

Your account is held in Amazon Cognito and your writing in Amazon DynamoDB, both in AWS’s US East region. Access is enforced per user at the infrastructure level: the credentials your device receives when you sign in are only able to reach rows belonging to you, and that restriction is applied by AWS before any request reaches the database.

A copy is also kept on your own device so the app works without a signal. That copy never leaves your device except to sync with your own account.

Backups and how long things are kept

Deleted content stays recoverable for a while, because the alternative is losing things permanently to a mistake:

After those windows pass, deleted content is gone for good.

Deleting your account

Email jake@evansgeneralco.com and your account and everything in it will be deleted. Backups containing it age out on the schedule above. You can also clear the on-device copy at any time by clearing the app’s site data in your browser.

Children

Anchor is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
